Yeah it might be more hassle for you than it's worth,
as there's over 10 different models and manufacturers that use the chip.

It would take a fair bit of research, and most models would need to be ordered from China, so you'd probably get hit by customs also, unless the seller disguises the package well, but even then they can open the package and ask you for a receipt.

The battery life on the Novo7 is only about 3 hours apparently, not sure about the other models out there.

pretty certain on getting a playbook now @ 200 sterling .

the only issue is that is a US version. will that make a difference?

obviously the wall socket is going to be wrong, but i assume they can charge by usb and uk chargers for them seem to be very cheap....

If the charger takes 110-240V then all you will need is a US-UK adapter,

most chargers and PSU's these days take 110-240v, jut make sure to check first.

Have you a Blackberry?

If so, that's by far the best option, if not, then its still a fine piece of kit.

Charging over USB takes aaaaaaaaaaggggggggge eeeeeeesssssssss

i dont have a blackberry, but am putting faith in the new os 2.0 which is due out in February - supposedly with an open Android market etc etc.

i researched a little on the power supply, and it seems that all i will need is an adapter, but am not 100 percent certain of this. if not uk chargers seem to be very cheap on ebay, as they are standard blackberry chargers......

I've seen the new OS briefly, looked good from what I saw.

You ordered the playbook you mean?

Hope it fits all your needs, and you enjoy it.

If you still need a usb charger, try to get something like this or this

Both of them put out 2 Amps of current, so they charge 4 times faster than a normal USB port.

I have the white travel charger with the 4 ports myself, which i bought in maplin.

If you have 2 devices connected, then it splits the 2 Amps, into 1 Amp each.

If you have 3 or 4 devices connected, they'll share 500mA just like a normal USB port.

received the playbooks today. have to say after an evening of fiddling with it i am well impressed.

the multi tasking is great, the hd screen crystal clear, and the touchscreen very responsive. lacking a good ad blocker for the browser, which is a pain, but other than that seems a great buy.

the build quality is rock solid, as you would expect really. their app store is a little lacking, but i am sure the os 2 will sort that. well worth the 200 quid in my opinion. and the 7 inch screen is a great size. well happy so far anyway!
