Sell RTÉ2.

Incorporate RTÉ2 sports and children’s programming into RTÉ1.

Close RTÉ News Now and the RTÉ+1 Channel.

Sell 2FM, close Lyric FM and shut down the RTÉ PLAYER.

Give Virgin Media all RTÉ’s online platforms.

Relocate the RTÉ Concert Orchestra to Cork College of Music.

Relocate the RTÉ Symphony orchestra to the National Concert Hall.

Immediately close down all the online RTÉ radio stations.

Sell the Montrose Campus and incorporate the management of RTÉ into a new entity along with the Abbey Theatre, and all other publicly funded arts programmes.

Restrict the remaining RTÉ1 TV channel to four hours a night public service broadcasting (excluding sports) and withdraw from bidding contests with Virgin Media for the free to air TV rights to broadcast sporting events in Ireland.

Yeah, but you are right. Have you ever heard their weird advert for them? At the end of the ad it has a weird catchphrase "Love your orchestras". Such nonsense.

A lot of it makes sense but a bit wild. Personally, not currently living in Ireland, I listen to RTE Rad 1 mostly all day. I don't know if the advert revenue pays for it. Lyric is ok too, and based out of Limerick?? So not giving it all to the D4 massive. There are duplicates of the stations but scale them down but not cut them out.
I don't think I could listen to Limerick 95 or Cork 96 all day.

Rupert Murdoch is brilliant

So is John Malone.

No problem with either of them.

Everyone knows that Virgin Media is part of Liberty Global and more and more people know about “Corks” 96FM being Murdoch’s 96FM thanks to people like you posting things like this.

Thanks.

We are Murdoch
