Passed away yesterday which now means Howard Wilkinson is the only English man alive to manage a top flight team to the title,

Different times and era ..sad to hear real throwback to my childhood. That villa outfit he created were a real swashbuckling team. Shaw Morley Cowans mortimer whtye evans..what a great side they were..shaw and Morley were my faves.

Villa pipped Ipswich for the title in ‘81. It was one of the all time great english sides under Bobby Robson. The european games built up and Town had games in hand yo win but ran out of steam.

Beattie, Burley, Butcher, Muhren, Brazil, Wark, Mariner, Eric Gates and more.

It shows how good that Villa side were too.
