YouTube can be a Godsend for showing lads how to do DIY tasks such as basic car repairs etc but that doesn't fit the narrative of course.
Good video.

Agreed.I do it every day, its nearly something that should be on school curriculums. It's important to look after your mind
Mind yourself. Anniversaries can be trickyIt's my mother's anniversary Monday. I will keep in mind all of the advice here in order to process and not barricade. I agree about meditation, I joined a group one before and found it helpful though I'm more clued in now about group thoughts. A friend sent me sime sound bath videos I must listen to
100% this. Also, people aim for way too long starting off. No one sits down first day and meditates for 30 minutes. Getting 5 minutes would be amazing.Meditation is fantastic.
Very hard to master though and tus people often give up before they manage to get to the good stuff.
It's great that they have stuff like quiet rooms and sensory rooms in primary schools now which should make meditation that much easier to master for future generations.
These days people are reactive rather than proactive. People get all hot and bothered by the slightest thing and flying off the handle.Agreed.
Daniel Goleman wrote a brilliant book about 30 years ago, Emotional Intelligence, where he advocated for teaching children how to cope with emotions.
Been a while since I read it, but I think they did some trial programmes with excellent results.
Diet, finance, emotions, exercise, communicating are all life skills that are all more important than Shakespeare and Algebra. Of course, I mean at their level. Shouldn't be breaking down essential amino acids in junior infants.
I can't remember having one civics class in 5 years of secondary school. Usually the teacher who was supposed to be teaching us civics would use it to teach his own subject or mark papers and let us catch up with study ot homework. These days people are reactive rather than proactive. People get all hot and bothered by the slightest thing and flying off the handle.
True peace comes from balance of everything in life and these skills are not being taught…I think I learned more from teachers in school who were worldly wise and knew about living than academic stuff…we had this teacher who used to take us out bowling with the Bishop for Civics classes the odd time…Best education from 14 years in school without a doubt…
