Your Mental Health

I get more of a "Smartest fella in the remedial class" vibe here. Likely to become a guard or a teacher. They don't want anyone too smart, and a profession where you can throw your weight around and don't have to deal with people who are capable of fully mature thought.

Lol, you don't like the cops.

Quel surprise

It can be managed.

Hers certainly wasn't.

She repeatedly mentioned St Patrick’s as her hospital.

Erra her daily drug use didn't help her.
Sometimes it can be managed. However there was plenty of debate about whether she had received the correct diagnosis.
I've ranted on here before about the arbitrary notion of labels for mental illness. It's way more of a spectrum in my opinion then gender is.

Even if they find medications that can help it's often impossible to ensure they are being regularly taken because often the side effects are not liked by the patient.
It's not practical to institutionalise everyone with mental illness for their own protection.

I've seen lots of people try to sue institutions based on the logic you're employing here. It doesn't hold.

Correlation does not imply causation.

And I know people who have dreadful experiences with St Patrick’s , one getting the price of a house off them instead of their woeful standard of care being revealed in court.

Potato, potahtoe.

See thats a decent post.

I mostly agree with you.

I think she was unfortunate to end up in St Patricks. SonicY says she was a difficult patient, judging from her drug use and failire to continue with medication she obviously contributed to the severity of her illness. That's not to blame her for that, its common enough.

As I said, people with Bipolar are 20 times more likely to top themselves. A sad waste of a life.

I think what's particularly alarming about the SOC case, for many people, is that she was ostensibly successful. Sure, she had problems, but she was still a gifted artist. She had a career where she did what she wanted and had a huge amount of people wanting to work with her. She had money to live her life, she had the freedom to live her own life, she could put food on the table for herself and her family and owned her own home. She had so many people come out after her death saying how friendly she was to them, and how blessed they were to consider her a friend, or even just meet her and talk to her.

For so many people with severe mental illness that's a pipe dream. Yet she still couldn't escape what plagued her. Imagine the average fucker going through what she went through. Worried about where they can live, how to eat, how to get Sky Sports, how to even have a relationship let alone a family. What hope do those people have?

Kumbaya my lord Kumbaya!!!!

No I made it clear he couldn't be reliable in his account because he is displaying clear signs of mania and mental illness.
Or do you think being so enraged by a person is a good reason to post ding ding the witch is dead on the day of her death.
He was exhibiting similar behaviour on here before he was admitted the last time.

You don't like the americanisim psych ward?
Do you prefer mental institution then? How about the term nut house which was very common when I was growing up?
🤔
"They call it the madhouse in Cork by The Lee".
Other names were "The Redbrick" and "The Looney Bin".
"Funny farm" is an americanism afaik.
