Sometimes it can be managed. However there was plenty of debate about whether she had received the correct diagnosis.It can be managed.
Hers certainly wasn't.
She repeatedly mentioned St Patrick’s as her hospital.
Erra her daily drug use didn't help her.
I've ranted on here before about the arbitrary notion of labels for mental illness. It's way more of a spectrum in my opinion then gender is.
Even if they find medications that can help it's often impossible to ensure they are being regularly taken because often the side effects are not liked by the patient.
It's not practical to institutionalise everyone with mental illness for their own protection.
