Dublin and the East Coast hit hard last night/this am so RTE and Irish Times all over it. Cork/Kerry nearly washed or blown away on occasion and hardly a mention!!
America is freezing, Europe is cool so unless you want to go on a ski resort in the Balkans the best places to to be in to get away from this weather and have nice holiday is Venezuela, the Sahel & Southeast Asia.
There's constant reports on RTÉ about weather events beyond the pale. Even the traffic updates these days include stuff regularly from around Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford.
Current RTÉ is a long way from what it was like twenty years ago, which I'd say was the last time a lot of the people complaining listened to it. Midleton's flooding is regularly mentioned and discussed.
I had to drive to Dublin and back today. It was a dose. Stuck for 45 minutes around Rathgar/Terrenure with flooding and lights not working properly. Motorway was relatively ok. Dublin City was getting a battering though.
