Wuhan Wheeze

Different topic of the wheeze, but better than trotting out tired conspiracy theories... I think the lockdown, while horrific for almost everyone who couldn't stand near the docks downing cans, actually did a massive reset on what people value.

The amount of people taking up hobbies and activities to keep themselves sane when they had a bit of time means they've continued them on now life has returned to relative normality. People are spending time doing woodworking, writing, doing jigsaws, jewellery making, photography, cooking, crocheting, lace making, the lot. It's actually great to see as it gives some satisfaction in life beyond the usual stresses of work and looking out for your family. It's some really valuable personal time.

I lost my mother during COVID. She spent 7 weeks in Marymount with a strict limit on visitors and passed on her own, which was her biggest fear.

You do not speak for me and are not representing my beliefs.
Sorry to hear that Bunk. A few friends of mine lost a parent during the pandemic too.

While losing a parent is tough at any time, during the pandemic was a lot harder from what they've told me. We're very good at supporting one another in those times, but we just couldn't do it as well then.
