I remember listening to an interview with Mark Tighe just after the courts found that the John Delaney's finances were in the public interest.

He was fairly emotional because Delaney sued both the Sunday Times and Him personally. It was seen as a dirty move. Tighe was a freelancer and award made against him would have basically meant the family home being sold to service the debt.

It was a deliberate move from Delaney. The Shinners have done similar to Ruth Dudley Edwards.

She never said that was his intention. Anyway, why repeat the libellous comments when reporting on huge damages awarded?

This is just another sad little attempt by some to delegitimise the main stream media.

Either by accident or design you're missing the very salient point. Rather than cite only the newspaper as the source, the journalist who wrote the article and was very happy to by paid and have their name on the byline was not mentioned. There was no need to delve any further into what she did or did not say in the article - just name her. Simples


If Blighe or some other nutjob of the Irish Right spouted similar nonsense he would be named - it wouldn't just be "a member of the Irish Right".

He has shown great character and his grief is still ongoing. I thought Holland’s remarks were unwise but that’s not to say I think they were that inaccurate either.

I could pick apart what he said and what I think he meant but I don’t think that’ll achieve much. I respect your opinion on this even if I disagree with elements of it.

It’s a totally tragic case and I’m glad the scumbag is now behind bars. I would hope more of his family follow him into prison and if they are ever released that they are fucked out of the country. By whatever means.

As Yermon says, you are absolutely missing the point: Kitty Holland, her bigotry and its cover-up by the MSM is the story here. Holland and her ilk routinely character-assainate people whose views they dislike and get away with it, as she has here. She is not even a faithful reporter, having, for example, made up a story last year of "far right" types intimidating asylum seekers. But she gets away with it because she is Oirish Times royalty, the offspring of Mary Holland.
