Why should their private religious beliefs trump their duties as a teacher?
Obviously the U.S. constitution differs greatly from the Irish one.
Purely hypothetical but Article 44 of the Irish Constitution goes on to espouse religious protections provisions that would seem not a million miles away from the protections offered by the U.S' first amendment.
Trying to force people to use language in the workplace that is at odds with their religious freedoms could present legal challenges going forward.
