Will Holly Cairns improve the chances of the fledging Social Democrats

SocDemsBamPlan.jpg
Something the Soc Dems have been planning a while. They had the big stunt at the site there the other week. Supposedly Pádraig Rice was talking about a library on the site.

Padraig Rice car crash interview on Radio one this morning over some health plan his party has launched. Wanting free health care extended to under 12's in a system that already has capacity issues is crazy among some other crack pot suggestions. The southside Tommy Gould making Jerry Buttimer and O Laoire appear competent.

The Counting House is still not let out, that could be a great spot for the library and put a park where the events centre was to go!
The Park could be a goer, top pints there too! A veritable music library in its own right. A bit of Status Quo wafting over people out on the grass. And I don't mind where any library goes as long as they get serious cash to improve on what exists now. Same spot or somewhere close. The current building has felt dated for yonks. There's lots of memories for me, there, but you'd desperately need something up to date.

How long has it been in that building? They're doing fantastic stuff with what they have, and Cork is growing. Imagine something designed for today, tomorrow and next week's needs. And, sticking my neck out, the Peace Park is great stuff. But they do need to dicky the area up more.

An email sent to Pádraig Rice, chair of the health committee.

The Parliamentary Question he put to the Minister rather than using his powers2026-03-13 - Social Isolation - Pádraig Rice - Soc Dems - Liveline.jpg as Chair of the Health Committee.

The Social Democrats put this guy in charge of interrogating the HSE.

Not a serious party, not a serious man.
