This practice of pardons is very familiar to us here in Ireland when lots of murders rapists bank robbers etc. Under a universal pardon under the GFA. Dessie Ellis successful argued that anyone issued under the GFA with a pardon has their record of crimes destroyed so that nothing can hinder them in application for passport or job in the public service. It is a small bit worrying that former rapists can now have jobs in childcare etc or any other high risk areas. MM said it is best not to tamper with the GFA.
