I don't think that's fair. They were all over the Dutch last week, and were very positive in the second half last night. Some of the touches were just shocking, though, and took all momentum out of their play. A bit more composure and they'd have scored a couple.

I watched it with my kids, both of whom are girls. I want them to stay in sport for as long as possible, and having a snotty attitude to women's football will do fuck all for that. Is it like watching the champions league? No not really, but I don't think anyone in here will score a goal like the French one in a competitive match, so let's get out of our own holes, yeah?

I've said it plenty of times women's sport excels when the equipment is right sized for women.

Athletics they throw smaller shot, jav, Discus and their hurdles are smaller.

Tennis, shorter matches, lighter rackets.

Camogie and LGFA were able to streamline rules like pickup and throwing the camogie stick

In Soccer and Rugby they look dog slow compared to men becuase we're used to seeing men operating at full speed in the same space..

Goals should be 10-12% smaller by area. The Ball should also be a size or two smaller.

it's a false equality to insist that women catch or kick a full sized ball as well as men when their hands and feet are smaller. or cover the same space when they are slower

it's not the sportswomen it's the shoe Horning them into mens rules and specifications

Completely agree, EG. Camogie is an excellent example, IMO it doesn't suffer by comparison to hurling at all, and is an excellent watch. Same for tennis. In football it is initially jarring to see the speed contrast, but you get calibrated to it and it's no longer an issue, unless you're just looking to pick holes in things.

Camogie is an excellent watch. Been to the last 4 finals with the kids.
Great entertainment and really competitive.
I dont watch women's soccer but then again I only watch the marquee events in men's soccer.
