Absolutely. I think it's an old army term. The owner was ex-army and I think his name was John O'Callaghan (?). After that he owned a pub up by Coburg Street, across from the mighty Hilton where a woman who must have been in her 60's was cracking on to me once. I was 40 fecking years younger than her. Still, sometimes wondered about the experienced woman angle.........

Originally called The Commodore I believe. The building nextdoor was also an RIC Barack.
