The Abbey Tavern across the road is a lovely spot, although a bit too hipsterish for me. You'd get a fair few of the pro Palestine crowd in there as well.

Tbh I think that part of the city is a total shithole. Those flats between Gilabbey Street and Barrack Street/Bandon Road is like something from Ballymun.

I couldn't tell you the last time I had a pint in that area, with the exception of Barbarella the night it reopened under new ownership.

I drink on Douglas Street and nowhere else. Cork's top street.
