Dept Q is good alright. Last episode is a bit of a mess. Looks like there may have been reshoots, the car interior was shite.

Also the cops being surprised reading statements that were explained when watching a video a few scenes before .

Still worth a watch and setup well for more.

No. I still think it's a great season and a decent finale and while the poor quality of the car journey might be explained by reshoots and it's pedantry on my side I still can't figure out why they had two of the characters act so surprised when reading about something they watched in the video tape scene a few minutes before.
Also, the fuck was up with the blood trail left behind at the murder spot?

- no spoilers there by the way.

It was a bit jarring.


I really enjoyed the piss takes about formulaic cop shows there where they all finish each other's sentence with one character saying something along the lines of "shut the fuck up and let her finish speaking" and there was another obvious call out of someone over explaining something.

Ah I dunno, that's a pretty big mistake / lazy edit but it's the only negative of the show I have and it's inconsequential to the whole thing.

Also shows how much I was into it to notice it too I guess!!

No the scene I'm talking about (without spoiling it for anyone) is when two of the cops are reading about the circumstances the suspect grew up in and reading the report like they've just learned some massive new news.
Instead though they'd been part of the group that watched the video revealing the same thing earlier that day.

It's a bit strange but like I said doesn't really have any impact

Slow Horses S04 4/10

If you watch it through a Hot Fuzz lense then you'll enjoy it more. By season 4 none of the characters have grown in any way, the story beats remain static and the B plots are just stupid.

Still watched the whole thing and will watch season 5 out of habit more than anything else
