Set in the 50s a BBC news team covering the Suez crisis from afar mixed in with MI6 intrigue looking for a suspected Russian spy. Everyone in it seems to be a chain-smoker. I hope the actors were smokers in real life because the amount of cigs being consumed is astounding. It bubbles along. 7

Scavengers Reign 7/10 Anime show about a stranded crew on an alien planet where everything is trying to kill them. I'm not sure what I've just watched but it had me hooked till the end.

One episode left to watch in second series. It’s been quite engaging. I see that it was made in 2012 so series must have got canned since which is a pity.

Harjunpää (Helsinki Crimes).

Not streaming anywhere I checked, and it's in Finnish so, preferably, hard-coded english subs required. A police drama set in Helsinki where 2 cops investigate a series of murders. Grey, grim and lots of rain. A small part of each episode on their personal lives but mostly their depressing work lives where people kill people, kids kill people, babies die, alcoholism, depression etc. 8 X 42 minute episodes, suits my attention span.

Watching a show called Evil at the mo. It's a weekly procedural monster type show about a psychologist and a priest in training who are tasked by the Church to investigate demonic possessions. It has some overarching storylines and b plots to keep it ticking over.

The hook for it is, is that its dark. There are moments in it that are so sadistic, you wonder how it ever got on the telly. Ben from Lost and Luke Cage are the most famous actors in it that I recognise.

If you liked supernatural, you'll get a kick outta this.
