When I opened Netflix last night it was No 1 in Ireland. I didnt watch.

I can remember watching it as a kid, but other than Landon being in it, i can remember nothing about it. Highway to Heaven was another of his shows I watched as a kid.

there was a good article in the Groniad basically saying everyone misremembers LHOTP, because of the theme song and the fact it was replayed at 14:00 on Sunday afternoons

All the story lines were about Alcoholism, Abuse, rural deprivation and Slavery, I remember none of these things but apparently it was fucking grim

I have a memory of a scene, but I can't for the life of me remember which show it was on.

Some Russian gangsters show up at a Russian immigrants house one night and basically give him this choice. Write a suicide note, claiming responsibility for a crime we committed that caused the deaths of lots of people. Then blow your brains out. If you do, we will look after your family and children (who it is implied he sends money back to Russia to support), they will never want for anything, and your kids will go to the very best colleges money can buy.

If you don't, we'll kill you anyway.

I thought it was The Wire season 2, but now I don't think it is. But the crime is similar in that it causes the deaths of women being trafficked for to be sex workers IIRC
