What podcast are you listening to right now?

Actually the only podcasts myself and mm listen to together are hurling ones.

I don't mind the hurling pod, even though they talk a good lot of rubbish. Dalo is painful, but the rest can be good.

I have never listened to podcasts with the kids, though apparently there are some good ones out there.
Had a Joe Rogan podcast on in the car whilst the little one (2) was in the car.
Heard her repeat back a few words he said.

Maybe i’ll turn those kind of things off when she is with me.

I actually don't mind Joe if he's interviewing the likes of Bill Burr, Ric Flair or The Rock.

That's his level. When he brings on these guests like Suzanne Humphries and other cranks, and sits there open mouthed like the stoner he is just nodding his fucking head at them, because he's stoned and gullible (or at least pretending to be for views) I don't bother.

Anyone who says Vaccines and antibiotics haven't led to an increase in our longevity is a fucking moron and should be treated as such. And no I'm not being closed minded. It's just I've no time for cranks out to sell a few books to boost their bank balance. There's a preponderance of evidence out there showing how much they've aided our longevity and it's you (opposite) who is being closed minded to it, listening to someone who cherry picks information and sells a narrative around it. Go read about how vaccines killed Smallpox ffs.

Also, as I said the other day, in the early 20th century, 800 people per 100,000 died of an infectious disease. In the 21st century it's 48 per 100,000 (American figures). It was vaccines and antibiotics that did this. Better sanitation probably had a lot to with it as well, but anyone telling you medicine didn't play the major role is this is a liar or an idiot, or both.

I do like the variety of guests and i don’t mind the man himself but i’d never quote anything i hear on the show as fact.
Over the last 2-3 years the amount of ‘painful’ episodes has increased.

He talks frequently about how divided people are and fails to see how he contributes to/facilitates that.

The Fall of Civilizations is spectacular, covering civilizations that have fallen apart for various reasons

I'm 229 episodes into the History of Byzantium podcast, so might be good on that one...

The British History podcast covered the Norman Conquest recently in way, way, way more detail than the recent series by Trish. That's also an outstanding series, currently 464 episodes in, following British history in a direct timeline, currently as far as William the Conqueror's kids.
I'm loving Fall of Civilisations. Thanks for the recommendation.
