Grew up in the heartland of the north Cork mafia before moving to the north side in my twenties for a more sophisticated experience.
Now reside in the one of the leafy suburbs where I spend most of my days reminiscing about cows and beours.

In the end never far from a cow or a beour no matter where in Ireland you are…I grew up mostly in the suburbs, live in Germany now but do miss summers of youth on grand parents farm…Nothing like waking up to the small of cow dung..

Dear God.

My actual surname.

I take it you're a prod Kingy. That would explain a lot.....
Easy there Kev, though I don’t share Kingy’s love of royalty, I too have Protestant forebears. And as you know am an extremely proud Corkonian - born and bred in our Beautiful City.

My mother’s roots were Scots prods. My father West Cork catholics since time began. Sizeable minority of prods in West Cork down around Dunmanway, Bantry.
I’m a bit of a mirror image of you ponti - my fathers people were of Scottish Presbyterian stock - my mother’s forebears were out of north-west Cork.
