And how would you know?
My hair got so weak it left me.

Your hair gets weaker as you get older, esp if you have been dying it for many years. It can also thin through pregnancies.
Those are more likely reasons for older women cutting their hair.
Short hair def takes more effort to maintain than long hair for me.
Short hair is far easier for me. I have had it shoulder length, but I have to put conditioner in it and actually brush it. I used to tie it up nearly all the time, so it seemed pointless it taking all that extra time with it, for the odd occasion I wore it down.
Now I'm confused. I feel this question needs it's own thread with a poll and possibly a spreadsheet.Short hair is far easier for me.
I suspect the type of hair you have dictates which is easier, as in curley, fine or like a wire brush. Mine is straight and fly away, so when it gets long it gets split ends and is annoying. Now I'm confused. I feel this question needs it's own thread with a poll and possibly a spreadsheet.

I have this kind of hair so a short do is less maintenance for me. My sister has perfect long, thick hair so she can have it long no bother.
