I'm hoping William O Leary will get the 4th seat in my constituency, Cork East. Although the nut job John O Leary on the ballot will cost William votes. John O Leary from Kerry Pike is standing in 11 constituencies. I wonder who got him to stand in East Cork. Probably one of those competing for the 4th seat. I smell a rat here.

I hope the skull duggery will come out in the wash

Did you ring Neil about it?

Is he really running in 11 constituencies?
How is that possible?
No laws against it.
You must be an Irish citizen and 21 years of age or older.

You either must be
1:affiliated To a party.
Or
2: have a declaration from 30 constituents where u want to run.
Or
3:deposit of 500euro

In a four seater for instance the quota is 4+1 so 20% of the vote.
You then have to reach a 1/4 of that ie 5% to retain your deposit ,that's my understanding anyway .

How is there no law against it? Yea run in 11 different constituencies in 11 different elections and carpetbag your way around but if elected in 2 constituencies in the same election, unlikely as it is, he can't possibly be a TD in 2 constituencies .

Not doubting you and accept what you're saying but that's madness

A guy canvassing told me was running in 11 constituencies.

It turns out he's running in 7 this time.

Ran in 11 constituencies in 2020

Sorry about the misinformation.

I believe that he's standing in East Cork to take votes from William O Leary.

Draw your conclusions

It's disgraceful conduct. An attack against democracy IMO.

That scum bag should be brought to account

FF 38, SF 37, FG 35.

As of now with 12 seats left to fill

FF 43, SF 36, FG 36

Labour to get a couple
FF to get 4
FG to get 2/3
SF to get 3 maybe

Would MM demand sole Taoiseach if the gap is 8 or 9 seats? They'd be short maybe 2 or 3, with Lowry, McGrath, the Healy Raes, the road haulage woman and Independent Ireland? That'd be 9.
Or go with Labour or Soc Dems who'll have 11/12?

Bertie insinuated yesterday that could be the case.. Difficult talks ahead with FG on the subject I imagine.

I'm guessing that FF/FG will be tactical here. It makes sense to play different groups of each other to reduce demands.

Some RTE Panellists suggested that FF/FG would not see Soc Dems as a reliable coalition partner (inexperienced and flaky ?) They are a rising force now and it would be useful to be able to label them as 'hurlers on the ditch' in the next election - I'd engage with the Soc Dems, then break off talks, stating that their demands were unrealistic/unreasonable.

I would prefer the Indies and Independent Ireland.
Bacik will insist on God knows what.
Soc Dems, I just can't warm to them.
