Reading Kevin Toolis "My father's wake" at the moment. It's annoying the shite out of me. It's a real American's view of Ireland. Riddled with cliches and patronising head pats.

The Atrocity Archives, Charles Stross

I remember trying it on the recommendation of a friend twenty years ago when this type of thing would've felt fresh and strange, but so many tv shows and films (Fringe, etc.) have come out covering similar ground that it's all a bit old hat. It's excellently written and often very funny, though. There are a gazillion books in the series (The Laundry Files). I'll definitely be reading the next one.

3/4 ways through ' Olive Kitterage' by Elizabeth Strout. The last book I have in the Lucy Barton series.

It's an easy read. Would recommend for holidays book.

I've already read it but I hope someone I gave it to will.

Leonard and Hungry Paul by Rónán Hession. The most joyful, uplifting story of people being happy and living simple lives.

"Leonard and Hungry Paul" is excellent. Hession's next book "Panenka" is equally as good, if a little different.

I have not read his latest "Ghost Mountain" yet.

I am in completely agreement on this one. My concentration levels are fucked. Can't go 5 minutes without checking the damn phone at times.

If it wasn't for audio books I'd have given up on books. Even then I often realise that I haven't heard a word the reader has been saying for 5 or 6 minutes and have to rewind.
