Btw, I have no problem referring to Israeli actions since October 7th as terrorism instead of war since wars usually involve two armies fighting each other, not one army pounding the civilians of another territory into dust.

Hamas were guilty of a horrible terrorist attack not launching a war. Israel have said it's a war to suit their own murderous, land grabbing agenda.
Israel have been murdering innocent Palestinians long before October 7.
Let's call a spade a spade here.

Hamas declared war against Israel and recommitted to their charter which calls for the eradication of all Jews in the Middle East and the state of Israel. Hamas also stated after October 7th they would commit similar acts again.
Before the state of Israel there was a long and sustained campaign against Jews in the Middle Esst and North Africa by the Muslim Brotherhood, Radical Islamists and others. These included many innocent Jews being slaughtered. It’s kind of understandable they want to wipe out any organisation on their borders that is committed to killing all Jews.
Who started it first could go a long way back. There are also historical links between Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood and the Nazis that fled to Cairo after WW2.
As for the current conflict the easiest way to end it is for Hamas to surrender and free the hostages.
The reason they won’t do it is be they’ll loose power over the Palestinian people in Gaza.
