Welcome Palestine

A few points on the above:
  • All of them happened within internal borders except a couple of the African ones I would guess
  • The Israeli Palestinian conflict has been in the news regularly since at least the 60's
  • The West is responsible for the modern day creation of the Israeli state - this isn't like in Africa where it was France or Britain or the Netherlands, this was the victors agreeing after WWII what should happen with the Jewish people and giving them a homeland
  • Israel positions itself as part of the West and has been supported by the West for decades, especially the US, and therefore having one of "our own" commit the atrocities they are committing is a stain on how the "civilised" West sees itself
  • To be doing this so visibly in front of the whole world without anyone acting to stop them shows a taboo has been broken and if so why can't another Western country go down a similar route in the future.
Maybe more should have been done to stop the other conflicts you mention but that doesn't mean a blatant act of genocide such as this shouldn't be called out at every opportunity.

To add I don't think anyone is calling Hamas an innocent party but this has gone well beyond being about Hamas, this is about genocide, land grabs, and collective punishment of 2.3 million people............why would what is simultaneously happening in the West Bank be happening if this was still about Hamas??

So Ethnic Cleansing doesn't count (for being the largest) unless it satisfies certain parameters ?

Parameters that seem so narrow that it can be only be the Israel & Palestine conflict..

So the article should be the :Largest Ethnic Cleansing Since WW2 that pinko liberals can virtue signal about.

Fair enough so

Fair enough but you seemed to imply a bit more with the last 2 sentences of your post.
You mean that Hamas set these actions in motion?

(I'm sick of saying that once an act of war is committed it is very hard to stop the consequences of that act - and normally it is the innocent who suffer - and once set in motion they tend to play out to an end that is decided by the stronger of the two entities - which in this struggle unfortunately for the Palestinians is Israel )

And I don't support Israel or Palestine

That wasn't my point.

I was pointing out why it is a lot more prevalent in people's minds than the ones you mentioned and of importance to the West.

"But this is the hill we will die on

AND I'd be fairly sure none of the above started with the 'Innocent Party' killing 1200 people in one day"

To me your last 2 sentences in your initial post seem to lean towards being dismissive of this genoicide and that there is justification to what Israel is doing.
