The key points on negotiations to release Gaza hostages

“The hitch in getting the deal over the line, it appears, relates to sequencing.
I am told that Israel wants the hostages to be released first and it will then order a pause in hostilities.
Other players involved in the process want the cessation to be called first and then the hostages to be released.
This may appear to be a small matter, but such adversarial positions have the potential to sunder an agreement.”

What ever happens the immediate future for Gaza is a full Israeli occupation with more killing. The terrorists regroup in 5 years or 10 years and the cycle continues.

Six hours into the attack by Hamas the IOF still hadn't arrived just a few miles down the road against lightly armed infantry. No wonder many people in Israel are now asking how on earth that could have happened in one of the most heavily monitored and militarised areas of the world. Ignoring various intelligence sources predicting such an attack is one thing, but taking so many hours to react after it did happen is very strange, especially given an IOF who tend to shoot first and ask questions much later.

Israel should make the first move, call a ceasefire for say 3 days, if hostages are not released in that time then it is the
fault of Hamas if Israel resume attacks,

Has an independent method of deciding how many of the hostages are still alive been established? Hopefully they all still are but with the indiscriminate bombardment by the IOF it wouldn't be very surprising if a number of the hostages were amongst the many thousands of fatalities.

Has there been a clear distinction made between Civilian and Military captives?

Does it include the various Civilians detained without charge by the IOF?
