Right now we've a previously open shipping channel taken over by Iran, fuel prices permanently increased no matter a stabilisation, massively disrupted global supply chain which will ripple for months (again with companies taking opportunity to bake in price increases), NATO shaken further, Iran regime strengthened, a decades worth of infrastructure rebuiling to key energy infrastructure, US force projection weakened.

The US have gained absolutely nothing from this other than Trump temporarily avoiding Epstein.
