War with Iran

That doesn't really help much of anything.

If you don't get satellite terminals into the country, its an empty gesture. If you have no internet access, VPN is of no use to you. Need external access to establish the connection.

That's happening.

It's not easy, getting stuff into Iran is challenging, it's the size of the UK, France, Germany and Spain combined, with some vaguely decent, of probably out of date, protection.

Communications will help, but even if the slaughter is televised, how should the west support? There's an argument for some strikes against governmental facilities, but I'm not convinced that's a great idea. Doesn't put a way to fight back in the hands of those that need it. Being able to post videos on twitter is not going to stop a bullet...

I think it's complicated, IMO those claiming the west is somehow just happy to sit back and enjoy the view are being disingenuous.

Thanks for that.

Gaza has 2 million people, they need to sort their own shit out at this stage.
Yeah doesnt quite sit right , does it.
Gaza is an open air prison.

Iran is not an open air prison.

20,000 reported dead and another 300k wounded in Iran but there should be nothing done over a coup 70 years ago?

Thats tremendous logic right there.
Putting the son of the guy they put in last time, and calling it a day, won't be to the benefit of anyone.

The Iranian people are using the only means available to them, widespread protest and they've been brutally repressed.

The absolute clowns who were up in arms over Gaza but have nothing to say on this or dismiss it are the worst sort of hypocrite.

A glib sort it out yourself is an appalling sentiment.

The brutes in the Islamic republic need to be ousted and the West should be doing everything possible to achieve this.
The west is doing the bare minimum for Ukraine, and effectively nothing for Gaza, they happily ignored it for 2 years.

What makes you think the West will do anything now?

What would you have the west do?
Boots on the ground, or smuggling in a few overpriced weapons?

Who, in the west? Nato looks like it's falling apart. Russia and China will be doing all they can to help the Iranian regime right now.

Until the army turn, it'll continue like this, a complete tragedy like.

Yeah, it'd kinda useful for this sort of thing. Shame it's comatose.

The key difference between what the west can do for the Iranian people and what the west could have done for Gaza is the supply of weapons. If they wanted to the west (mainly the US) could have stopped the Gaza war almost immediately by stopping arms shipments, there is no such leverage over Iran. And as can been seen the Iranian regime don't give a toss about their people as long as they stay in power so not sure what can be done to benefit the Iranian people other than start supplying insurgency groups with weapons but this could take years to bring about change.

The UK actually did stop all direct shipments but had to contribute into the F35 parts pool from which Israel sourced parts.
If they refuse to supply parts, they lose access to all the pooled spares for the 50 or so F35s they currently have.

Large sections of the left in the UK have been screaming that Labour are arming genocide because understanding stuff is too much work
