Up for the match

This is a discussion, as there was a belief out there amongst the herd that everyone from Cork should have been supporting a team playing for Cork.
They should. That doesn't require that you go, or even that you watch it, but a hope that your county would win is a normal party of being from that county.
I didn't, I was not watching it, I felt your type and your cult like mentality needed to be challenged.
You've spent a long time posting on here about something that claim you dont care about.
So zero interest in the match is indeed relevant but what is more so is the exposure of the herd mentality.
All you've exposed is your own flawed logic
Your brain seems to be even resorting to the logic of " he can't be from Cork so ".
I never said that.
That is cult like mentality right there.
I am not trolling and what is tragic is how a sporting organisation has such a grip physiologically on so many in this country.

For the record I was born and bred here and my family go back generations.

So tell me more about your supporting of Cork City FC.........
If Cork FC are playing, I wish them well. I'm delighted for then and their fans when they win, and sad for them when they lose. They're my local soccer team. I don't have any interest in soccer so I don't watch their matches, but I still wish them well.

That's how grown ups do it...

This has nothing to do with you having zero interest in the match. If you had zero interest in the match, you wouldn't be posting so much about it.

What's pathetic is your attempts at trolling. You couldn't even commit to whether or not you were from Cork. Tragic, like...
The problem Matty is that Meridian is a Unionist. He’s just a coward…too afraid to say it. Unionists simply can’t fathom Irish people having nice things. Simply can’t. It’s the Jim Allister approach. Look at the bile published in the Belfast Newsletter, slating the BBC for showing sport and not wall to wall coverage of their annual white supremacy marches in July. It’s a sick sick mental and self esteem condition that can only be temporarily alleviated by securing triumphalist wins to knock the Irish back down.
It sticks in the craw of people like Meridian that a rich cultural organisation can rake in close to 8 million at the turnstiles for one game and feed close to 10 million back into the local economy in one weekend.

Trying to be cool, oh FFS.

What anyone who does not watch a Cork GAA match is trying to be cool, cop on FFS.
That isn't my issue.
Your claim that anyone that watches GAA is following the herd is and to be frank, that is a stupid assumption but after reading your replies here it seems to be your thing.
Don't watch it if you don't want to.

They said it was to feed volunteers.
Absolute bullshit.
"The need for the modest charge is to pay for the extra security and additional safety measures that are needed in order to run the event safely," said a spokesperson for Cork GAA

Show us where the Board said it was to feed volunteers.

Mattie I don't have the Interest or time now to multi quote so you will have to suffer the following;

Should support them ? Yes absolutely, if I knew any of the players, I didn't and I don't follow the sport. I woke up at 4 pm and soon after headed out for a bite to eat. I had again no interest in the sport or the game and am not part of that herd.

I spent a long time on here, captivated at the reaction of various posters reactions to my audacity at not supporting or following something I have no interest in.

My flawed logic is what ? That I feel better as an individual that I have not got that herd / cult type mentality?

You specifically asked me a few posts back was I from Cork. Are you now denying that?

As regards my own opinion on soccer, I don't like that either. I have no interest in Cork City FC.

Grown ups think for themselves and don't feel they have to be part of a herd.

That isn't my issue.

Don't watch it if you don't want to.
Thank you for your kind permission, I did not need that though.

You should take a leaf out of my book meridian, m8.
I don't watch drugby and never post about Arland or Munstershire.
Fair dues, well I do and guess where I post about Munster and Ireland rugby games.

Yes that's right, in the Sports Forum.

I have no idea why this thread is even in the Langers forum.

I don't think I have ever posted in any of the GAA threads, unless of course it was to wind them up.

So why is this thread here ?

If it was not I would not be arsed posting to it.
