So it was Trump 77m vs Harris at 75m.

He carried more states and electoral votes.

There are 3 things that I see as making it not as bad as it could be:
1. Europe is getting the time to sort its shit out militarily, thankfully he hasn't permanently formally withdrawn any major support from Europe or Ukraine. Ideally need another year or two, but at least shit has mobilised to mitigate the effects of the US withdrawing all support.
2. He's not crashed the global economy yet
3. Stupid evil is slowing them down


Project 2025 was nowhere close to fear mongering.

There's a bunch of gerrymandering efforts in a number of states that could change that.

Additionally, republicans will have absolutely zero compunction about fighting dirty, expect all sorts of shenanigans around voting eligibility, checking of the voter rolls, shifting of voting locations and undersupply of ballots in democratic districts, blocks on ratification of results, etc...

I'm fairly sure the Republicans are going to retain the house, by fair means or foul. The Trump administration has zero respect for the rule of law or conventions, they see winning as the only outcome that's acceptable and anything that will achieve it is fair game.
