The big three Detroit motor companies ( Ford, GM,Stellantis) have paid 2.1 billion in tariffs for the first six months of 2025 on components and parts made in China. They have tried to diversify--India, inferior guality. Turkey,too expensive. So they will have to suck it up and pass on the costs to the US consumer. Building component factories in the US would be more expensive than paying the tariffs! Anyhow Trump will be gone in three years.
