Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor people are being taken away.
They’re searching…everywhere, sending them off by the dozens…The Germans are treating them worse than animals.
In the evenings when it’s dark, I often see long lines of innocent people, accompanied by crying children, walking on and on, ordered about by a handful of men who beat them until they drop.
No one is spared — old people, babies, pregnant women, the sick...Only because they are Jews
