Which is a lot for a single month. For perspective, the deficit for 2016 was $587 billion.

US Government spending for financial year to date is $1.8 trillion and rising. Total for 2025 was $1.7 trillion.

US government debt is about to pass $40 trillion. Lot of money, Federal debt (which is lower) passed 100% of GDP back in March according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Overall government debt in the US is about 123% of GDP. Only Italy and Greece have worse debt to GDP ratios in the EU, Ireland's is now 33% albeit the GDP number is problematic.
Household and non-financial business debt are both in and around $22 trillion at the end of 2025, but when it comes to financial debt, there are all sorts of worries about shenanigans going on with regards to the AI bubble.

Some might consider that all a bit risky.
