The Trump administration is funding far right groups in the UK:
Documents published on US embassy’s website prompt claims of attempt to export Maga propaganda to UK
www.theguardian.com
The scope is:
"The U.S. Department of State invites eligible organizations to submit proposals for innovative, high-visibility public education and civic-engagement programs in the United Kingdom that deepen public understanding of the shared Anglo-American common law tradition, and/or to commemorate the 70th anniversary in 2027 of the American Bar Association’s unveiling of the Magna Carta Memorial in Runnymede, UK that honors the foundation of the rule of law. Priority will be given to ambitious initiatives that connect foundational principles, such as freedom of speech, due process, trial by jury, limited government, rule of law, property rights, taxation by consent, and ordered liberty to contemporary civic life."
and includes requirements about:
"Promoting the freedom of speech and religious liberty in alignment with Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty (E.O. 13798) and Improving FreeInquiry, Transparency, and Accountability at Colleges and Universities (E.O.13864) (§§ 200.300, 200.303, 200.339, and 200.341),"
The former executive order is about absolute religious freedom and freedom of speech.
The UK has freedom of expression, not freedom of speech. You can get arrested for hate speech, racism is not ok. You can get arrested for hate speech in the USA too, but they tend to overlook that.
This is a very obvious attempt to fund far right groups under the terms of "free speech". I expect the likes of Tommy Robinson to get a nice little payday out of it.
