Yes, and it would have taken courage to come out amd admit it then.Have you ever actually listened to LGBT+ people speaking about their experiences of realising they are gay/bi etc and how they come out? Very often they live a lie before that happens. Varadkar was no different.
But by the time he did admit it, it took little to none as he could see no one would care.
What are you failing to understand here? Courage is fearing consequences and doing something in spite of it. He knew there would be no consequences by the time he came out. Therefore, it took no courage.
