The big question IMO - Is the US totally fucked or is there a way back ?

We have seen, in many countries, that when a criminal enterprise takes the reins of power, it's very difficult to re-establish democratic norms.

I'd be very concerned that unless the GOP is hammered in the mid terms - the road to redemption might be closed off

The mid terms are the last chance saloon. It'd almost be weird if trump didn't try to rig them. If they succeed in rigging them, then yeah, the US is cooked.

i reckon it'll take 50 years to repair the damage trump/vought/bannon/miller/etc have done

the prob is because trumps madness has been successful (for him) it's just gonna lead to an endless srream of mini-trumps following in that time so, yeah, the u.s. is fooked

If you look at Britain which had a much less extreme version with Farage and Johnson, it has a chronic problem with a certain percentage of the population believing the idiots who fucked things up were actually right, enabled by large swathes of the media.

Just don't see the MAGA ecosystem dying any time soon.
