I don’t understand why they arrested him. Doesn’t make sense… if he has a work permit, green card application, no criminal record, he’s entitled to stay. He will be granted a marriage based green card. Whole thing doesn’t make sense.. keeping him in detention is criminal. Even if he entered the country illegally or outstayed a visa ( which isn’t specified), he’s been living in US for 20 years, and gainfully employed. It’s bullshit, and Martin should address it with Trump… withhold the shamrock!

It does make sense, if ICE arrest an immigrant and they don't have a green card, deport them, regardless of their status.
Who's going to stop them? The FBI? Nope. the Justice Department? Nope.
They have impunity.

They're deporting loads of actual citizens, mostly children, so it's not like there's proper justification.

On the minus side, Trump has this MAGA personal charisma rather like Hitler did. The Republicans have captured the legislative branch (barely) and the courts (again, barely), so the people who would usually oppose his corruption are now in his pocket. But unless Trump manages to create a coup that allows him to physically oppress the Democrats, I don’t see his system surviving. Again, as with Hitler (whose system vanished when he died) there is no one coming up to take Trump’s place.

I don’t know what will follow the Trump are; whether the US will continue to move to the right (in a more ordered way) or whether there will be anti right reaction.

But the fact that Trump’s focus is so much about himself and the fact that his government is so disorganized tells me that we have a single charismatic figure holding together a bunch of supported with significantly different goals, held together only by the incontinent narcissist himself.

I agree. I'm usually not one for the conspiracy stuff, but this doesn't add up at all. It's such a shoddy effort that it's really easy to believe this was done by the Trump cabal.
