Tricolours in town

I really like St. Patrick's Day. When I lived abroad I really got an appreciation for it and how important it is for Irish people, and people who love Irish.

When everyone wants to be Irish and you're the only Irish person there, it's a pretty cool feeling.

I still enjoy it back here, but will be taking it easy this year with it being a weekday. Will probably head to Paddy the Farmers as per tradition over the past few years. They go all out with music and Irish dancers, and they've a magician on at 3pm, Ger Kearney. He's unbelievable

Could Ger make @Yermon and @Matlock hug it out?

He would only try to steal her wallet to get her truck drivers licence to finally disprove the "legal professional" theory

She would similarly go for his wallet because she is in fact a legal professional but would be disappointed to find that it only contains a Condom (best before Sept 1997) an old 5 pound note and some northern bank sterling

Ken is doing more to import American culture wars into Ireland than any other politician in the country.

He comes across as a particularly nasty, narrow minded and backwards thinking individual.

For whatever good he does locally he more than spoils it with this rubbish.

But surely it’s up to each community to decide how they celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
And I agree, the parade in the city has been inclusive for as long as I can remember.
I’ve no problem with the inclusion of different groups who want to celebrate St Patrick’s, the one above is celebrate cultures.
A lot of culture their own day celebrations.

News Flash :

The tricolours on Togher Road have been removed, this must have happened today.

Someone must have complained about them after all, either that or the powers that be acted of their own accord.

So it looks like SF/IRA don't call the shots after all.

:lol!:

Of course they were.

Togher residents are a very proud and decent people.

They're no one's fools either.

Maybe it's just me, but it actually makes me really happy when I see foreign people living in Ireland that are proud to be here.

I've seen Arabic kids wearing green Ireland hoodies, and I think it nice.

Sher what about the Ukrainian kid in Cahersiveen who can speak fluent Irish?
Well said

14 years of Irish language education and I can barely string a cupla focail

My daughter knows more Irish than I do
