Tricolours in town

I notice a fair few tricolours flying on parnell place and merchants Quay. Good to see it,
If some want to see it as "far right" They
Can get stuffed,

People trying to create division is what has the US in the state it's now in. We can't let it happen here, and people claiming that flying our national flag is racist are a prime example of it.

Imagine us going to France or somewhere and complaining about them flying French flags.

The world really seems on a cliff edge at the moment and things like this are something we've to fight back against in my opinion

You’ed have to ask where all this, let’s call it enthusiasm, has been for the last 16, 17, 20 years? Hell, 5 years ago. Why now? Did we suddenly lose our self esteem?
Doing it now just shows a dimwitted FOMO. A following of the sheep no less, showing terrible insecurities. The need to look relevant online. For the lols and views.

Since when is any of the above Irish.

Depends on who's flying it and to what ends. People can very deliberately create division by using symbols which in other contexts encourage unity. Most people on here will remember a bunch of jokers who denied the legitimacy of the state and were happy enough to riddle Gardai but who loved them some tricolour.

Exactly.

I have plenty of indifference to flags in general but that doesn't make me any less Irish.

I was happy enough to see Shane Lowry the big white Irish head on him draping it around his neck tonight.

But I'm also happy enough to see Chiedozie Ogbene sing amhrán na bhFiann as Gaeilge, as he definitely did in Yerevan in an Irish shirt.

The type of people who hoisted the flags around town definitely wouldn't see things my way. They'd pretend otherwise but they're full of shit, like that dirty "we are(n't) Cork" cunt this morning.

What is it about the waving flags that's "no harm", Jimmy? What is it inside you that you feel like we need to do it more?

Are we feeling that insecure? Where exactly is the threat to "Irishness"?
