Deadline Day is traditionally the day when whom were once our brightest and most promising start to filter down the leagues or are sent on loan to the French second division, to be be replaced by an established Bundesliga striker looking for a big pay-day or the latest promising youngster from the DRC. Very, very few rise upwards as no top clubs want any of players; soon, only Kuiveen will be our only longer term representative in the top flight. Unless it's for the money alone, any of our better prospects are better off trying their luck on the continent.

If we produced another Roy Keane, Johnny Giles or Liam Brady tomorrow, top clubs would be falling over themselves to sign him. Maybe it's an issue with development of young players here at schoolboy/youth level.
