Transfer Window Thread

Arsenal getting more links every day with Rogers of villa. It would seem villa have to sell before they can buy as even with the CL money they still are been watched by uefa over the amount that they have lost the last couple of seasons.

Not much of a shock. Would be interested to see the wage level agreed, as presumably that was the main stumbling block in Liverpool negotiations

If true, that's an outlay - before agents fees - of £101m over 4 years for a "free" transfer.

To match that Liverpool would've had to put Konate on £485k a week deal, which was never going to happen given the most they ever gave a defender was £350K (VVD) and the new guys are on ~£200k (Ekitike & Wirtz) / £280k (Isak).

Given how long negotations went on I'd imagine they were willing to up his £150k deal to something in the vague ballpark of £250k.

According to El Desmarque, Konate will sign until 2030 on a salary of around $28 million (£21 million) per season. That works out at around $533K (£400K) per week before tax.

Additionally, Real Madrid will supposedly pay the player a signing bonus of around $23 million (£17 million) to secure his signature, which is a reminder that no transfer is ever really 'free'.

Liverpool has already brought in Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes in a deal worth around $83 million (£60 million). It also has the young talent Giovanni Leoni coming back from injury.
