Transfer Window Thread

Interesting buy. Physically he's phenomenal, covers ground like it's not there, which takes the defensive load off the players around him.

But he's got his limitations on the ball. Reminds me of Momo Sissoko at Liverpool. Still quite young, so if he rounds some of the edges off of his on-ball game then he'll be a hell of a player.

Aston Villa complete Amadou Onana transfer from Everton

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Amadou Onana from Everton.

The Athletic reported earlier this month that the two clubs were finalising a deal in the region of £50million after personal terms had been agreed between Villa and the 22-year-old on a long-term contract. Villa’s interest in Onana was first reported by The Athletic in June.

The Belgium international has signed a five-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.

Onana has made 72 appearances for Everton since joining from Lille for an initial £30m in the summer of 2022. The French club were entitled to 20 per cent of the profit made on any sale.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United were among the clubs credited with an interest in signing Onana.

Ismaila Sarr off to Marseille for somewhere in the region of £17.5m. About half of what Watford signed him for.

Consistently lacked consistency but theres a player there. Presumably Watford cashing in before he hits the last 18 months of his contract.

They've now moved him on for ~£12.5m to Villa, when presumably he was nowhere near the end of his contract.

Turned 26 in Feb. Still yet to put in a high-performing season at a top division club.

Time is ticking.
