You can try a few things:Anyone have any tips on preventing a mid race stitch? Tend to eat a good 4 hours before a race. Tend to drink very little water in the couple of hours before as well hydrated before then. Don't think I'm running too hard.
Cheers BT. I tried that one and it kept things at bay to a certain extent be fair. I'm going to try and push the eating back even further. As long as I eat well the day and evening before I think I'll be fine fuel wise. You can try a few things:
1. Change your pace - up or down, it doesn't matter - for a while - this can adjust the diaphragm and ease the stitch
2. Raise your hands aboe your head, then let them drop down beside you. When they are down shake out your arms loosely and take deep breaths. Do this on and off for a few minutes - no need to stop running
3. Some lads focus on the foot on the opposite side to the stitch - then they breathe out when that foot strikes the ground. I've never tried but there's lads that say it works
Jimmy and his coterie of ladiesKilleagh 4 mile tonight, started just off the main St, Headed out towards mogeely nice pull 1st mile, Found myself alongside a girl and we seemed to be at same pace, mile 1 8.29 felt good, mile 2 kept tipping away nicely 8.18, Turned left onto back road which leads to N25, still running with the same lady, I told her two female colleagues of mine were behind but would appear soon,

Signs of progress last week or do,
What sort of pain is it Jimmy?Back in trouble with the left foot, rested it all last week, Tested it yesterday for 5k but it was uncomfortable while running
and sore last night, At least i got Ballintotis, Midleton and Killeagh races done, Going to do what i should have done ages ago and put away the runners for at least two months, Id sooner get back pain free and out of condition rather than carrying on like this,
I had an MRI 8 weeks ago, It showed a stress fracture, Needless to say i didnt give it enough time to heal properly,What sort of pain is it Jimmy?
I was hobbling around Harty’s Quay last night and I passed a guy running barefoot.
