Training Run Times

Seems weird that decision. I was watching the finish last year (they changed it I believe) and there were fat happy joggers finishing a 5k race when the elites were coming in. And added to that was the twisty path at the end. Ok, as I say, they changed the finish, but wtf, the quality is non-existent in terms of times. Pure, 100% marketing and politics I presume.

Capetown and Shanghai set to be announced for 2026 too.

9 races makes a mockery of the series as a competition for elites. And the prize money has been well watered down from a few years ago

After last weekends run I spent the whole of the next day with my brother moving him house, so dragging and lifting for the day. My right hip has been uncomfortable since, like a pinch in the joint.

Went out today to do 15km but had to pull it up at 10.5km as I could really feel the hip, disastrous timing I think all I can do now is keep the runs this week really short and easy, I’ll get through the race anyway, and see where I am then

I’ll ring a physio I know well in the morning and get into him.

I’ll get through the run one way or another, but it feels like I have lost some power on that side. I’ll pay for it the weeks after but so be it

Great race yesterday with the Thomas Kent 10k. Fairly tough course with yer man Sergio walking home in 32 plus change.
I encountered the Polish independence run in St Annes Park yesterday while I was out for my own run.. looked like a brilliant event, I had no idea it was on. The medals were hilarious though.. very polish.. these massive eagle things, about the size of your open hand!

Next year I'll be all about my one of them :)

It was won in 34:44, nice going
