Not because of the scandalous nature of his material but because he was just terrible.
I remember he started doing a slutty nurse shtick and I just walked. All he was short was the mother in law jokes.
He had his shot at the U.K. In the 90s and he crashed and burned.(youtube his short lived sitcom). A deeply unfunny comedian.
