Tickets.ie gone wallop

Tickets.ie was a decent alternative to TicketBastard for the past 20 years but they failed to get the bigger acts/gigs/festivals - the ones the MCD/Aikens etc wanted pushed and were, generally speaking, left with smaller shows or the likes of Nathan Carter, tribute acts etc. They had an initial burst with a lot of Irish promoters moving to their platform to get away from the Live Nation machine - but due to limitations or poor planning they couldn't hold onto the bigger business.

The writing was probably on the wall for them after EventBrite, which is a global company, became the ticketing partner of choice for smaller venues like Cyprus Ave., Savoy etc.

Looking at my purchase history from them - I haven't bought a ticket from tickets.ie since Feb 2024 and I go to a lot of gigs.

Eventbrite must have the worst fuckin UI in history.

Can't search for anything and keepngetting pushed tickets to Schools Debs in Donegal.

Eventmaster seemed to steal a March on courses and events associated with "Sports Ireland", Athletics and cycling and such. All those used to be on tickets.ie too

I agree with you there - you search for a gig by band name etc. with no results returned - an event that is definitely on. Then you go back to the Eventbrite landing page and the suggestion for "upcoming shows that you might be interested in" includes the fucking gig that you have been looking for. Wankers.

Quickest workaround that I figured out is to, via the app, follow the promoters/venues that regularly put on gigs in Cork.
