Im no fan of the other most famous drunk but apparently Jim wrote and contributed to a lot of the songs.

Irish and European farmers are highly hypocritical opposing the Mercosour deal regarding Brazilian beef.

Whatever the merits of their arguments about the quality of Brazilian beef, Irish farmers and the Irish beef industry export huge amounts of Irish beef. Expecting to be able to export your own produce without importing produce from other countries is not fair trade.

Our EU agriculture "food safety" policy is just protectionism.

They're throwing that out now, with this deal, all so Germany can sell some cars to south America.

And I’m somewhat sympathetic to farmers and agree that they need some protectionism but farmers are being sold a pup here by those claiming to defend them.

If the EU starts opposing trade deals for imports into the EU it’ll make it harder for the EU to export its own goods.
