The, um, Aviation Thread

I flew from Kerry to Manchester last Thursday. The flight was fully booked - so some 180 passengers.

A sunny hot day & the flight was delayed by 30 minutes. So, 180 people packed into a very small departure lounge for about 90 minutes. No ventilation and very stuffy and hot as result.

Plenty of high level windows could be have been opened. But no staff or management had the initiative to open the windows. Given how quickly and easily the Delta variant spreads, it really was appalling.

Fair dues to MOL.

Of course they have and MOL blowing shite about Cork a few months ago.

Obviously the nitty gritty of negotiations would be miles over the head of a bus driver ;-)

Parking two 737s overnight in n Cork Airport is not a “$200m investment.”

I wonder have Aer Lingus thrown in the towel on their Cork / CDG service ?

A new twice-weekly scheduled service from Cork to Paris Orly airport is to be launched at Cork Airport this winter.

Management at Cork Airport has expressed its delight that Spanish low-cost carrier, Vueling, part of the IAG group that owns Aer Lingus, will operate the route on Mondays and Fridays from November 22, 2021 making it an ideal city break route in both directions.
