Agree. Ultimately I hope he doesn't allow himself to be used as a sportswashing puppet, but a bit of honesty up front like this is worthy of some respect.

Bizzare though as he has earned enough money to maintain his descendants in relative luxury for generations to come and has probably another 2-3 seasons at top level to add to his wealth, playing at elite standard.
Maybe if you were a late developer who played in lower leagues until your mid twenties, you might spend final 2-3 years of your career in a shithole like Saudi Arabia to "catch up" but hardly necessary for likes of KDB, Ronaldo, etc.

isn’t he already a sports washing puppet in many regards playing for who he plays for? it makes it much easier for him to come out and say this given that background.
