On another note (and I don't have figures to back this, just a personal observation) what I have noticed is by far the majority of westerners I've noticed who've converted to Islam are women . That throws up a whole new set of questions .

women are nutters and that's a scientific fact or maybe its down to the fact that Western women are sick of Western truncheons gettin bate up um and have swapped Western pocket trout for Arab Perri winkles

Agree with Strict. I see a lot of female Irish converts to Islam. Bloody depressing. But women are the ones keeping religion alive in the West anyway, and they're the ones driving it in Islamic countries.

I have nothing to back this up but I would imagine there are not many people converting to Islam but rather people of Islamic fate are immigrating to the West in large numbers. It is a demographic issue rather than a conversation phenomenon.
