The Official Venue Bar & Lounge Thread

About to go violently BANG

“The EPR then crosses Blackrock Road and on to Churchyard Lane where a portion of land-take will be required to facilitate the alignment. This includes the demolition of the Venue Bar, a well-known Ballintemple landmark. It is proposed to reinstate this corner site as part of the works, in keeping with the Architectural Conservation Area (ACA) status of the village.

The Luas? :ROFLMAO:

I'd say Con can rest easy - he'll be long gone before the Luas ever makes it's way up Churchyard Lane from Ballintemple.

25 stops between Ballincollig and mahonpoint at an estimate of 4 mins between every stop it will take almost 2 hours to reach its destination. I will take the car and be home before it arrives at MP.

Think that whenever it happens people might be using hover-cars anyway - unless the Greens ban them as well.

Must say I found the Luas in dublin to be a great service recently. Could park out in the suburbs and get into the city centre on business, then straight back out. 20 mins from Dundrum to city centre each way. Could take you twice that at least in their traffic.

You do realise that almost nobody will be going from A to Z or vice versa, but will rather leave Ms Luas at some point in between. Having got on at a different point in between. That's kinda how these things work. It ain't a Cork/Málaga flight deal.

We’ll end up with 20million spent on consultations and consultants without a single track laid, maybe in 20 years, the Irish state is incapable of delivering infrastructure, this will go the same way as the metro link, the Galway orbital route and the cork limerick motorway

If I was Con Dennehy I'd be calling my solicitor and getting ready for the easiest open and shut case ever.

They've essentially massively devalued his pub. If he wanted to sell the place he'd never attract a buyer, knowing that the place could be levelled in a few years.

Although knowing our government they'd probably offer him way over the odds for the place if they needed to aquire it. They cant just tell him to get out.
